The Arts of Point Richmond (AOPR) is a volunteer association established to enrich our community by promoting support, appreciation and exposure for the Arts. We provide exhibition opportunities for members and create events organized by an active coalition of artists. Members connect with each other via our monthly Newsletter, website’s online Member Gallery, sales events, exhibitions, and formation of ad hoc committees within the organization. We encourage new ideas and participation by members via serving on committees and/or bringing their skills and new ideas.
HISTORY AND GOVERNANCE:
AOPR was established in 2008 by Altha Humphrey to bring local artists together in a meaningful way. It flourished under the leadership of Linda Calvan Drake until 2013, when an ad-hoc leadership committee was formed. In 2018, a Board of Directors was created to define the mission, set objectives and goals, and approve all major decisions. It also exercises fiduciary oversight to ensure its funds are properly used. The Board continues to work to ensure a sustainable, vibrant future.
