My portraits of animals have to do with
affinity for the spirit within.
I feel connected to the spirit of each animal as I paint. It feels like a sensing of who we each are...
a conversation, a love poem with paint.
I think in some ways we are each other even if we are other....animal, plant, mineral.
One of my favorite mis-quotes is attributed to John Muir...
”When one tugs at a single thing in nature, they find it attached to the rest of the world.”
