I am an artist living and working in Richmond for over 20 years. My work is primarily two dimensional and I work in a variety of mediums including watercolor, gouache, oils, acrylics and some printmaking. I take my inspiration from nature.
Originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, I attended Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia for two years before moving to California in 1978. Here I attended the San Francisco Art Institute and received a BFA and MFA. I moved from San Francisco to the East Bay in 1997.
My early artistic influences were the American Abstract Expressionists, particularly Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis. Other early influences were Georgia O’Keefe and Arthur Dove, who worked from nature and found abstract color and form equivalents for inner emotional states.
