My abstract and mixed media work is best described as dark whimsy. I have always felt like an outsider and I am attracted to the energetics of life on the emotional edge. My beings are trying to survive in a world that is often dangerous and unpredictable, yet always touched by the humor, absurdity, angst and tenderness of the human condition. I am happiest when I am able to successfully combine cardboard and grit with aesthetic sensibility. I work in a wide variety of mediums including, acrylic, pastel, ink, watercolor and airbrush, often layering my original mixed media with digital imagery.
