National Night Out Festivities in Point Richmond

To celebrate the annual national event when citizens, organizations, and municipal police department join hands to enhance the relationships between neighbors and communities, the Point Richmond Neighborhood Council is spearheading an event in our community with live music, outdoor seating, games and street closure from 6 – 8 pm. There will be activities for children and families including chalk art drawing on the sidewalk near the library. Approximately 20 small rectangles will be chalked out in advance, and AOPR members are invited to play a pivotal role by distributing chalk to children and creating sample chalk art. Chalk will be provided, and each participating child will be given his own box of chalk to use and take home. The chalk art fun starts at 6:45 pm. Come on down and join in! Able-bodied volunteers are also invited to show up early, around 4:30 pm, to help set up chairs and tables for the outdoor festivities.
