The “Around Town: Building Community Through Art” exhibition at Point Richmond Gallery is a unique portraiture exhibition highlighting local personalities (and places) in a variety of media by Arts of Point Richmond artists. Be sure to stop by and see how many you recognize!
If you weren’t able to attend the opening reception for you missed a great event! Special speaker Mark Ulriksen—a San Francisco-based artist and illustrator whose instantly recognizable portraits and whimsical take on life have been featured on over 70 New Yorker magazine covers—spoke about his influences, inspiration and process in a highly engaging presentation. Subscribe to his FREE Substack newsletter, “Mark's Art”, here: https://markulriksen.substack.com/ to learn about the artistic process behind making images for magazines like The New Yorker as well as sharing examples of good, bad and "meh" paintings and drawings from over 40 years as a creative person.
The “Around Town” exhibition will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 2—5pm until November 22. THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, be sure to be sure to attend our second speaker event: “THE ART OF STORYTELLING" with MAGDA PECK, master storyteller, scientist and social entrepreneur. Join us at 3:00pm in the garden of Point Richmond Gallery and experience the power of storytelling to promote community vitality and well-being. This promises to be interactive and thought-provoking event, so come as you are, with ample curiosity and a bit of courage, ready to learn and practice how to tell great stories...on purpose.
