Hopefully by now you have been able to explore the new AOPR website. (https://www.artsofpointrichmond.com).
The information it provides on upcoming events and exhibits is easy to find on the home page and we will update it on a regular basis. The general public can also view this information and we hope this encourage them to join our dynamic organization.
If you haven’t done so already, please complete your website registration. This will give you access to some terrific AOPR member features.
Member Profile
As an AOPR member, you can create your own member profile—telling others something about yourself—and you can choose to make elements of this profile public or private (visible only to AOPR administrators).
Once you have signed up and logged in to the website, click on the downward arrow to the right of your login name and you will see a menu with a “profile” option.
Click on the "Profile" option and you'll be taken to your personal profile page where you enter the information you wish to share.
You can also select other options:
Members - See fellow AOPR members
Followers - See which of them is following you
Dues - Pay your membership dues
My Account - Control aspects of your account
Artist Gallery
The Artist Gallery displays information about our AOPR member artists.
Click the site menu icon in the header next to your login name.
That opens the site menu.
Select the "Artist Gallery" option and you'll see a list of artists in the gallery.
You could be in here too!
AOPR members can create and update their own entries in this gallery, free of charge, as a privilege of membership.
Tell the world what you do and how to connect.
You also get a personal portfolio to display images of your work.
You cannot add to your portfolio today. But soon you will be able to add, remove, and re-order images (up to 10), any time you wish.
We'll announce that feature when it becomes available in a future Art News post.
Meanwhile, take a look at some of today's gallery items to get a feel for what is possible. Get a start on your own entry by clicking the "Create mine" link and entering information about yourself that viewers can see today.
Emails from AOPR
You'll receive email notifications from the AOPR website, often about new posts to Art News. Click on "Art News" option in the site menu to see previous posts.
Consider adding info@artsofpointrichmond.com to your email contact list so that messages don’t go into spam.
You can opt out of future emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email we send.
However, we hope that you will want to continue receiving communications from AOPR, which will range from membership renewal reminders to the announcement of new exhibition opportunities and membership socials. We promise that the volume of email notifications will diminish once website fixes and member orientations to its functions are completed.
A Work in Progress
We're still working hard to improve the website. and we ask for your patience as the team works through the challenges.
We will soon add a section for interest groups affiliated with AOPR and each will have a dedicated page to talk about its latest activities. Art Tag, Artful Conversations, and the Photography Group are prime examples. We envision this website as a primary vehicle for up-to-the-minute communication with and among members. It is and will always be fresh and visually engaging. We hope that members will keep coming back for the latest local art news and to see member works.
