If you didn’t make it to the Art Tag Final Presentation last weekend, you missed a lot of “oohs and aahs”, a few surprise reveals, and a good time with fellow artists.
What is Art Tag? It’s a great way to motivate your art-making and interact with Arts of Point Richmond artists! And there’s still time to join the fun! Sign-up deadline for the next round is this FRDAY, MAY 9th. The theme is "In My Backyard". First pass will be June 15, second pass July 27 and final presentation August 31. To sign up, email Bonnie Leonard beleonard45@gmail.com
The Art Tag process is simpler to do than to explain, but it’s sort of like a chain letter: The participants collectively choose a theme, and then each participant creates a piece in any medium, using the theme as inspiration. Each participant then passes their piece to the name below their name on the list of participants, and receives a piece from the participant whose name is above theirs on the list. Everyone creates a second piece, taking inspiration from the piece they received and still related to the original theme. The process is repeated one more time, and then finally all the participants meet and show their artwork. For more information, go to: https://www.artsofpointrichmond.com/art-tag
Sign up by May 9 and find out for yourself if the best part of Art Tag is the creative inspiration, the encouragement to try something new, the fun exchange with other participants, or the end result: a fascinating array of art inspired by a single theme and by each other.
Big thanks to Kate Merriman for contributing all the photos in this post!
